ans.(c) -as 'h' of -OH in 1 will gain more electro+ve character due to participation of lone pair of oxygen in resonance with '=' of c atom

The correct answer is A.

  • In (I), the C-C bond is more electronegative due to the presence of double bond.
  • And in (II), the hydrogen bond is weaker due to single bond.
  • When OH is attached to a higher electronegative carbon, H bond is stronger. Hence, (II) has higher H-bonding and is more stable.

Hence, (I) is more likely to form hydrogen bond than (II).
