Consider two mediums A and B having refractive indices √2 and 2 respectively. What will be the angle of refraction

if light is incident at an angle of 450 while going from A to B. What will be the angle of refraction if light is incident

at an angle of 600 while going from B to A?(it is 45degrees and 60degrees)

Answer:

Explanation:

sin i / sin r = relative refractive index of  medium

sin 45 / sin r = 2/\sqrt{2}

sin r = 1/2

therefore r = 30⁰

while going from b to a

sin i / sin r = √2/2

sin  60 / sin r = √2/2

sin r =  \sqrt{3}/√2

r = sin ⁻¹ ( √3/√2)
