Answer:

Answer is (D) K>Mg>Al>B

Explanation:

Because as ke go down a group, metallic character increases and as we go along a period metallic character decreases, So this would be the correct order

Thanks...

Answer:

Metallic character is the ability to lose electrons..so, the element having the least no. of electrons in the outermost shell will be the most metallic and the element having more electrons cannot lose electrons easily so it will be less metallic.

the e. config. of B is 2,3

of Al is 2,8,3 of Mg is 2,8,2 and of K is 2,8,8,1.

So, K will be most metallic as it can easily lose 1 electron. Then will be Magnesium as it can lose 2 electrons more easily than Aluminium which can lose 3 electrons more easily than Boron...Even though both Al and B have 3 electrons in their last shell, losing electrons of shells farther away from the nucleus is easier as the pull of the nucleus decreases..

Hence final answer is=

K>Mg>Al>B

So correct option is D
