Size of the colloidal particles are so minute. So it can't be separated by a filter paper.

The constituents of a colloid substances are very small as compared to the pores of the filter paper.
As a result, the constituents can easily pass through the filter paper and there will be no residue left behind.
Hence, the constituent substance of a colloid cannot be separated by ordinary filtration.
