Our Constitution is regarded as the fundamental law of the land. It is because all laws are made and implemented in accordance with the provisions provided in the Indian constitution. The Legislature or the government cannot act in contrary to the constitution. It is from this fundamental law (the Constitution) that other laws are derived.

A constitution has been regarded to be the main law of land. The reason is that it is the God father of all laws in India. To be precise, it contains all laws mentioned in a clear cut manner. As it is the creator of all laws, it has been regarded to be the main law of land
