The election commission performs the following functions:
The elections are conducted by the Election Commission of India which is headed by three election commissioners.
1 -It fixes the date of election.
2-It allots constituencies.
3- It prepares electoral rolls and set up the polling Booths.
4- It also declares the result after the counting of votes is over.
5- It provides the ballot papers and electronic voting machine (EVM) through which the voters register their votes.
