First contribution was of Aryabhatta, an indian mathematician from Bihar region.
After that, there were many Indian mathematicians like Srinivasa Ramanujan, Brahmagupta, Bhaskara ll (classical period),Nilakantha Somayaji,CR rao etc.
★Aryabhatta gave 0 and find system of place value. also, determined the values of trigonometric functions like cosines, sines, etc.
★Ramanujan gave Ramanujan’s identities in partition of numbers, work on algebra of inequalities, elliptic functions, continued fractions, etc.
★CR Rao is a well known statistician, famous for his “theory of estimation”.
