- Draw with the help of compass.
- Mark an arc of radius 6.8 cm on ray XB. Let the point is L.
- Draw line segment LC.
- Draw perpendicular bisector of LC, it meets XB at a point, let the point is A.
- Draw line AC, Thus construction of ∆ABC is complete.
Verification:
On measurement of sides of ∆ABC, it is found that
AB= 3.8 cm
AC= 3 cm
Thus,
AB+AC= 6.8 cm
