Construct a graphical scale when the given R. F. is 1 : 50,000 and
read the distances in kilometre and metre.

Explanation:

The R.F scale is taken to represent the actual measurements on the land on the graph. since there is not much space on graph so it is scaled down to represent on diagram.

For example 1cm on graph or paper shows 50,000 cm on ground

Usually 15cm scale is used to draw a graphical scale. Thus, we can say that

15 cm = 50,000x 15/100000 (7.5km)

Since, it is not and integer so we round it off to 5km

Thus, we can say that 15cm = 5km

Thus, 0.5 cm = 1 km

So , we can make graph by drawing a line equal to 15cm and mark divisions of 0.5 cm each so that distance can be easily read.
