Steps of construction:

  • Draw a circle with centre O of radius 3 cm such that OQ = 3cm.
  • construct angle O =120° and name that point as R where the extended line of angle meet the circle.
  • construct angle R = 90° and angle Q = 90 ° respectively.
  • let these perpendiculars intersect each other at P. so, PQ is perpendicular to OQ and PR is perpendicular to OR.
  • Hence, PQ and PR are the required tangents which are inclined to each at other at an angle of 60°.
