Construct a parallelogram whose adjacent sides are 7
cm and 6.5 cm and one diagonal is 8 cm long.​

To construct the given parallelogram follow the following procedure:

  1. Construct a line first measuring 7cm and name the segment as AB.
  2. Now measure a length of 6.5cm on the compass and  place it on point A and mark an arc above the segment.
  3. Now measure a length of 8cm on the compass and place the compass on the point B and mark an arc that intersects the other arc made from A.
  4. The point of intersection is the point D.
  5. Now we have to construct a point B to construct the parallelogram.
  6. We now place the compass on point B and measure the length A and mark an arc as shown in figure.
  7. Now place the compass on point D and measure the length A and make an arc the that intersects the arc made from B.
  8. The intersection of both the arcs is point C.
  9. The parallelogram ABCD is constructed.
