Pyramid of biomass, an aquatic ecosystem, is always inverted.

(iii) The biomass of primary producer (PP) that is the phytoplanktons is smaller than biomass of zooplanktons. The latter constitute primary consumer (PC).

The biomass of carnivores i.e. fish, a secondary consumer (SC) is more than the biomass of primary consumer.

→ Thus the pyramid of biomass of aquatic ecosystem is inverted.
