Step-by-step explanation:

Firstly we draw a rough sketch of quadrilateral ABCD and write down its dimensions as shown in attachment figure.

Steps of Construction:

Step 1. Draw AB = 4 cm

Step 2. With B as center and radius equal to 4 cm, draw an arc.

Step 3. With A as center and radius equal to 2.5 cm, draw another arc, cutting the previous arc at D.

Step 4. Join AD and BD.

Step 5. With B as center and radius equal to 3 cm, draw an arc.

Step 6. with A as center and radius equal to 4.5 cm, draw another arc, cutting the previous arc at C.

Step 7. Join AC and CD.

Then, ABCD is the required quadrilateral.

Answer:

Steps for the construction of quadrilateral ABCD:

  1. First of all, draw a line segment AB of length 3cm.
  2. Set the compass to the radius of 3.7cm. Consider the point A as center and draw an arc above the line segment.
  3. Now set the compass to the radius of 5.5cm and draw an arc from the point B.
  4. The point where two arc cut each other, mark that point as D. Join the point B and D as well as point A and D.
  5. Set the compass to the radius 2.4cm and mark an arc from the point B.
  6. Set the compass to the radius 4cm and draw an arc from point A on the last arc.
  7. The two arc cut each other, mark that point as C. Join the point A and C as well as B and C.
  8. In the end, join the point C and D.
  9. After the construction of quadrilateral ABCD, measure CD. The length of CD will be Equal to 4.5cm.
