I have attached the answer to the question you have asked:

Steps of construction:

  1. Draw a line segment BD = 9 cm.
  2. Taking B as centre, draw an arc of 3 cm.
  3. Taking D as the centre, draw another arc of 6 cm which intersects the first arc.
  4. Mark the point of intersection - 'A'.
  5. Taking B as the centre again , draw an arc downwards of 4 cm.
  6. Taking D as the centre , draw an arc of 5.5 cm which intersects the arc which is = to 4 cm.
  7. Mark the point of  intersection - ' C'.
  8. Therefore, you have completed the construction using these steps.
