Construction :–

\setlength{\unitlength}{1 cm}\begin{picture}(0,0)\thicklines\qbezier(-1,0)(-1,0)(1.5,3.14)\qbezier(4,0)(4,0)(1.5,3.14)\qbezier(-1,0)(-1,0)(4,0)\qbezier(2.1,3)(1.5,3.5)(0.8,2.4)\qbezier(1.1,3)(1.5,3.5)(1.9,2.4)\qbezier(-1,0)(-1,0)(1.5,-3.14)\qbezier(4,0)(4,0)(1.5,-3.14)\qbezier(2.1,-3)(1.5,-3.5)(0.8,-2.4)\qbezier(1.1,-3)(1.5,-3.5)(1.9,-2.4)\put(1.4,3.2){$\bf C$}\put(1.4,-3.5){$\bf A$}\put(4.1,0){$\bf D$}\put(-1.4,0){$\bf B$}\put(-1.2,-1.5){$\bf 4.5\ cm$}\put(3.1,-1.5){$\bf 3\ cm$}\put(-1.2,-1.5){$\bf 4.5\ cm$}\put(3.1,-1.5){$\bf 3\ cm$}\put(3.1,1.5){$\bf 6.5\ cm$}\put(1,0.1){$\bf 6.5\ cm$}\put(-1.1,1.5){$\bf 4\ cm$}\end{picture}

Steps of construction :–

1. Draw a line BD of 6.5 cm. [Given]

2. Cut an arc of 4 cm from point B in above the of a line BD. [Given, BC = 4 cm]

3. Now, Cut an arc of 6.5 cm from point D in the above of a line BD. [Given, CD = 6.5 cm]

• We get point C.

4. Cut an arc of 4.5 cm from point B in below of a line BD. [Given, AB = 4.5 cm]

5. Now, cut an arc of 3 cm from point D in the below of a line BD. [Given, DA = 3 cm]

6. Join all the points :- BC, CD, AB and DA.

  • ABCD is a required quadrilateral.
