Given :  a quadrilateral ABCD in which AB = 4.5 cm, BC = 5.2 cm, CD = 4.8 cm, AD = 5 cm and diagonal AC = 6.5 cm.

To Find  : Construct a quadrilateral ABCD

Solution:

Step 1 : Draw  a line segment AB = 4.5 cm

Step 2 : Using compass width = 5.2 cm and taking B as center draw an arc

Step 3 : Using compass width = 6.5 cm and taking A as center draw an arc such that it intersect arc drawn in previous step at C

Step 4 : Join BC

Step 5 : Using compass width = 4.8 cm and taking C as center draw an arc

Step 6 : Using compass width =  5 cm and taking A as center draw an arc such that it intersect arc drawn in previous step at D

Step 7 : Join CD & AD

Step-by-step explanation:

AB = 5.2

BC = 4.5

CD =3.4

AD = 6.3

AC = 6cm

BD = ?

  1. First draw the base BC = 4.5 cm.
  2. Draw the arc AB = 5.2 cm from the centre B.
  3. Draw the arc CD = 3.4 cm from the centre C.
  4. Draw the arc AD = 6.3 cm from the centre D.
  5. Join the lines to the arc
