We know that opposite sides of rectangle are equal.

⟹AB=DC=8 cm and BC=AD=6 cm

Steps of construction : 

1. Draw a line segment AB=8 cm

2.  Since, we know all angles of rectangle are 90∘ then construct an angle of 90∘ at A and B.

3. Cut off AD and BC at  6 cm.

4. Join CD.

Thus, we get the required rectangle ABCD.
