Question:
Construct a rectangle such that one diagonal is 6.6cm and an angle between two diagonal is 120° .
Steps of Construction:
- 1) Draw a line segment , AB = 6.6 cm .
Now, AO = 1/2 of AC ( that means AO = 1/2 × 6.6 , by substituting this we will get the Value, AO = 3.3 cm. )
- 2) Using Ruler , Take AO or BO = 3.3 cm. Let, O be the mid-point of AC.
- 3) Using Protractor , take ∠BOC = 120° or 60°
- 4) Using Protractor , take ∠BOD = 120° or 60°
- 5) Take OC = 3.3 cm .
- 6) Take OD = 3.3 cm.
- 8) Join AC = CB = BD = DA .
Therefore, ABCD is the required rectangle.
Material Used:
- Ruler
- Protractor
