Question:

Construct a rectangle such that one diagonal is 6.6cm and an angle between two diagonal is 120° .

Steps of Construction:

  • 1) Draw a line segment , AB = 6.6 cm .

Now, AO = 1/2 of AC ( that means AO = 1/2 × 6.6 , by substituting this we will get the Value, AO = 3.3 cm. )

  • 2) Using Ruler , Take AO or BO = 3.3 cm. Let, O be the mid-point of AC.

  • 3) Using Protractor , take BOC = 120° or 60°

  • 4) Using Protractor , take BOD = 120° or 60°

  • 5) Take OC = 3.3 cm .

  • 6) Take OD = 3.3 cm.

  • 8) Join AC = CB = BD = DA .

Therefore, ABCD is the required rectangle.

Material Used:

  • Ruler

  • Protractor
