Explanation:

⇒ Draw line segment BD=5.8cm

⇒ Draw a perpendicular bisector PQ of the line segment BD intersecting BD at point O.

⇒ Draw a line XY passing through point O making an angle 50

o

with BD.

⇒ Diagonals of a rectangle bisect each other.

⇒ Hence, take O as the center and radius=2.9, cut two arcs on both sides of point O cutting line XY at points A and C.

⇒ Join AB,CD,BC and AD.

⇒ ABCD is the required rectangle.

OR

Steps of construction:

1. Draw line segment BD = 6 cm

2. Draw a perpendicular bisector PQ of the line segment BD intersecting BD at point O.

3. Draw a line XY passing through point O making an angle 40° with BD.

4. Diagonals of a rectangle bisect each other.

Hence,

take O as the centre and radius = 3 cm, cut two arcs on both sides of point O cutting line XY at points A and C.

5. Join AB, CD, BC and AD.

6. ABCD is the required rectangle.

Answer:

Construction of rectangle

Explanation:

Steps of construction:

1) First draw the diagonal 5 cm line AC. mark the mid point of it as '0' 2.5 cm.

2) With 0 as center draw 50 degrees. and extend it downwards(below the line AC) also.

3) With '0' as centre cut an arc of 2.5 cm on the line both above the line AC and below AC. Mark these pints as B & D.

4) Now join AB, BC, CD & AD. ABCD is the required rectangle
