Construct a rhombus ABCD ,where AB = 6cm and ∠A=80°.

Also write the construction.​

Thus,here ABCD is a rhombus.

And the sides of the rhombus are all equal.

So, AB = BC = CD = DA = 6cm respectively.

Since,the adjacent angles of the rhombus are supplementary.

Then we have,

∠A + ∠B = 180° and it is given that ∠A = 80°

Therefore,∠B = 180° - 80° = 100°

Now, we will draw a rough fig.(see attachment 1)

Steps of Construction :-

  1. Draw a line segment and name it AB = 6cm
  2. Now,using a protractor try to construct ∠XAB = 80° at A.
  3. Now, again draw a ∠YBA = 100° at B by using the protractor.
  4. By taking A as the centre and taking radius = 6 cm = AD ,draw an arc and cut AX at the point D.
  5. Now, taking B as the centre and radius = 6 cm = BC ,draw an arc and cut BY at the point C.
  6. Now, last step is Join DC .

∴ ABCD is our required rhombus. (see attachment 2)
