Rhombus is a figure which has all its sides equal.

So let ABCD be a rhombus.

where AC is a diagonal (you can also take it BD as diagonal)

So steps of construction are as follows:

1)draw a line Ab=5cm.

2)take a as center and 8cm as radius in compass and draw an arc.

3)now take b as center and 5cm as radius draw another arc the intersection of both arcs will be point C.

4)Now take A as center and radius 5cm and C as center and radius 5cm .

5)you will get two arcs the intersection of these two arcs will be point D.

6) Hence ABCD is a required rhombus.

Answer:

at first draw 8cm.then find the midpoint.then draw an orthogonal line through the point and cut 3cm each side.then connect the points and draw the 4 sides of 5cm.
