Appropriate Question :-

Construct a rhombus rose with RO = 5 cm and RS = 8 cm find it's area.

\large\underline{\sf{Solution-}}

Steps of Construction :-

Step :- 1. Draw RS = 8 cm

Step :- 2. Taking R as centre and radius 5 cm, draw two arcs on both sides of RS.

Step :- 3. Now, taking S as centre and radius 5 cm, draw two arcs on both sides of RS intersecting the previous arcs at O and E.

Step :- 4 Join OR, OS, RE and SE

Thus,

  • ROSE is required rhombus.

To find area of rhombus :-

  • Join OE and measure OE.

  • We get, OE = 6 cm.

Now, we have measures of diagonals of rhombus as

  • RS = 8 cm

  • OE = 6 cm.

\rm :\longmapsto\:Area_{(rhombus \:  ROSE)}  = \dfrac{1}{2} \times RS \times OE

\rm :\longmapsto\:Area_{(rhombus \:  ROSE)}  = \dfrac{1}{2} \times 8 \times 6

\bf :\longmapsto\:Area_{(rhombus \:  ROSE)}  = 24 \:  {cm}^{2}
