A square ABCD with its diagonal measuring AC=8 cm in length.

1. Draw AC = 8 cm.

2. Draw the right bisector XY of AC, meeting AC at O.

3. From O set off OB = 1/2*8 cm = 4 cm along OY and

   OD = 1/2*8 cm = 4 cm along OX.

4. Join AB, BC, CD, DA.

5. ABCD is required square.
