Answer:
Donkey and the Cow
In a small village on Kerala called Cherthala there lived two friends Ratan and Suyash. Ratan was a milkman who sold milk to the village people, while Suyash was a washerman who took care of laundering people’s clothes. Ratan had a cow who used to give milk that he sold to the village people while Suyash had a donkey that used to help him with his chores. Every night the cow and donkey used to talk to each other discussing about their respective master.
Each day the donkey used to complain about his master and his treatment towards him, although his master was taking good care of him and was only taking work which the donkey was capable of doing and generally does. However, the cow was all praise for his master and was grateful to him. The cow also advised the donkey to stop complaining and be grateful towards his master.
Nevertheless the donkey did not listen. Next day, as usual Suyash wanted the donkey to start the daily chores and was instructing him. But the donkey did not listen and instead gave Suyash a revengeful kick. Suyash who was flabbergasted by the donkey’s behaviour got angry and beat the donkey and also as a punishment did not give him any food. On the other hand, the cow as usual was sincerely performing his duties for his master. Ratan was very happy with his cow and fed him special green fodder. From this lesson we learn: We must be grateful and complacent with whatever we have and life would be happier.
