According to the given question:-

Construct a tangent of the length 4 cm from a point which is at a distance of 5 cm from the centre of the circle.

Hence,

Given

=>OB±AB

=>OA=5cm

=>AB=4cm

Triange ABO

Using Pythagoras Theorem:-

\begin{lgathered}\sf = > OA2 = AB2 + BO2 \\ \sf = > 52 = 42 + BO2 \\ \sf = > BO2 = 25 - 16 \\ \sf = > BO2 = 9 \\ \sf = > BO = 3 \\\end{lgathered}

Thence, 3 cm is the radius of the circle.
