Steps of construction :

Draw a line measuring using a ruler then by the compass measure 3 cm and mark two arcs representing 3cm on the line and name as AB or BC

Then , (let's say marked as BC) at B place the pointer of the compass and mark two arcs on either sides of B with the same measurements, then place the pointer on each arc and and draw two arcs crossing each other few centimeters above B

Next extend a line from B passing through the mid point of the two crossed arcs (like through where it touches both the arcs at one point )

Then measure 3cm from the compass and place the pointer at B and mark an arc on the newly extended line naming it as A

Finally connect A to C and so the triangle is constructed with angle B as 90 degrees and AB = BC = 3cm
