Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Triangle ABC in which AC=6.2 cm

, ∠C=60° and AB-BC = 2.5 cm

To find: Construction of ∆ABC

Solution:

Steps of Construction:

  1. Draw baseline AC of 6.2 cm.
  2. With the help of protector or compass draw an angle of 60° at point C and extend the angle line downwards also, as shown in the attached figure.
  3. Measure 2.5 cm from the compass and make an Arc on the downward ray, that is CX.
  4. Join A to X.
  5. Draw a perpendicular bisector of AX with the help of compass.
  6. The point where the perpendicular bisector meets the line of angle 60° in upward direction ,B will be the point of intersection.
  7. Join A to B.
  8. Construction of triangle ABC with given specifications has been done.

Verification:

On the verification part one can measure the side length AB and BC, here AB is 5.5 cm and BC is 3 cm ,

AB-BC= 2.5 cm

which is required.

Hope it helps you.
