steps of construction...
1. draw a line BC of 5.6 cm .
2. now draw a angle of 45° from point B.
3. take the radius 1.6 cm and cut an arc7. on that line. the point where it cut mark that point D.
4. joind D to C.
5. now draw an arc from point C both side and mark it E, cut an arc from point D both side and mark it F.
6. join E and F.
7. now increase the line B cutting the line EF and the point it cut name it A.
8. now join A and C.
9. we get the traingle ABC.

The construction of ∆ABC is attached

having BC = 5.6 cm, AC-AB =1.6 cm and ∠B =45 °

Given:

  • ∆ABC
  • BC=5.6 cm and AC-AB=1.6 cm
  • ∠B =45°

To find:

  • Construction of ∆ABC

Solution:

Steps of construction:

When AC>AB, the arc of difference of both sides is made below the base line.

  • Draw base side BC of 5.6 cm with the help of scale and pencil.
  • Draw 45° angle at point B with the help of protector/compass.
  • Mark an arc of AC-AB=1.6 cm on line of 45° extended towards downward direction, mark that point D;as shown in figure.
  • Join D and C.
  • Made a perpendicular bisector of DC; Open the compass more than half of the length of DC and mark an arc in both sides of DC from both points i.e. D and C then join the midpoints of arc.
  • Perpendicular bisector of DC cuts angle 45° line, mark that point as A.
  • Join A to C.
  • Thus, construction of ∆ABC has done.

Verification:

On measurement

AC=4.2 cm

AB= 2.6 cm

Thus,

AC-AB=4.2-2.6=1.6 cm
