Steps to construction :

1 ) Draw a rough skatch of ∆ABC and

mark the given measurements.

2 ) Construct ∆BCD using S.A.S rule with

measures BC = 6 cm , <B = 30° and

BD = 3.1 cm [ i.e AB - AC = 3.1 cm ]

3 ) Draw the perpendicular bisector of

CD .

Let it meet ray BDX at a point A.

4 ) Join AC to get the required ∆ABC.

Given : BC=6 cm   angle B=30°   AB-AC = 3.1 cm.

To Find : Construct triangle

Solution:

Step 1 : Draw a line segment BC of length 6 cm.

Step 2 : Draw an angle of 30° at point B on BC using protractor

Step 3 : Draw Ray BP

Step 4 :  From B take BX = 3.1 cm

Step 5 : Join CX

Step 6 : Draw perpendicular bisector of CX  intersect ray BP at A

 Step 7 : Join A to C

ABC is the required triangle.
