The construction of ∆ABC is attached in the figure.

Given:

  • ∆ABC
  • BC=5.6 cm and AC-AB=1.6 cm
  • \angle B=45°

To find:

  • Construction of ∆ABC

Solution:

Steps of construction:

  1. Draw base BC of 5.6 cm with the help of scale and pencil.
  2. Draw 45° angle at point B with the help of protector/compass.
  3. Mark an arc of AC-AB=1.6 cm on line of 45° extended towards downward direction, mark that point D;as shown in figure.
  4. Join D and C.
  5. Made a perpendicular bisector of DC,it cuts angle 45° line,mark that point as A.
  6. Join A to C.
  7. Thus, construction of ∆ABC has done.

Verification:

On measurement

AC=4.2 cm

AB= 2.6 cm

Thus,

AC-AB=4.2-2.6=1.6 cm
