The construction of ∆ABC is attached.

Given:

  • A ∆ ABC.
  • AB=6.7 cm, \angle A=55^{\circ}
  • AC-BC=1.2 cm

To find:

  • Construct the ∆ABC.

Solution:

Steps of construction:

  1. Draw the line AB of 6.7 cm.
  2. Draw \angle XAB=55^{\circ} with the help of protector.
  3. Draw an arc of radius 1.2 cm on ray XA.
  4. Join the point L with B.
  5. Draw the perpendicular bisector of LB, it intersects ray XA at point, let this point is C.
  6. Join C with B.
  7. Thus, construction of ∆ABC is complete.

Verification:

On measurement of sides, it is found that

AC= 8.6 cm

BC= 7.4 cm

Thus,

AC-BC=1.2 cm

Hence, verified.
