The construction of ∆ABC is attached.
Given:
- A ∆ ABC.
- AB=6.7 cm,
- AC-BC=1.2 cm
To find:
- Construct the ∆ABC.
Solution:
Steps of construction:
- Draw the line AB of 6.7 cm.
- Draw with the help of protector.
- Draw an arc of radius 1.2 cm on ray XA.
- Join the point L with B.
- Draw the perpendicular bisector of LB, it intersects ray XA at point, let this point is C.
- Join C with B.
- Thus, construction of ∆ABC is complete.
Verification:
On measurement of sides, it is found that
AC= 8.6 cm
BC= 7.4 cm
Thus,
AC-BC=1.2 cm
Hence, verified.
