Construction of Incircle for triangle ABC:

  • Draw a line segment AB = 5 cm.
  • Draw a ray BX from B by making an angle of 60°.
  • Draw an arc on BX from B with radius 6.4 cm.
  • Name this point as C.
  • Join A and C.
  • Draw angle bisectors for angles A and B.
  • Let the point of intersection be I(incenter).
  • Now, drop a perpendicular from I such that it meets AB at D.
  • With I as center and ID as radius, draw the circle(incircle).
  • This circle touches all three sides of the triangle.

NOTE:

1. You can draw angle bisectors for any two angles.

2. Perpendicular from I can be drawn to any of the three sides.
