Given : sides BC=3cm AB=6cm and AC=4.5cm.

To Find : Construct triangle ABC

Solution:

Step 1 :  Draw a line segment AB = 6 cm

Step 2 : taking compass width= 4.5 cm and taking A as center draw an arc

Step 3 : taking compass width = 3 cm and taking B as center draw an arc such that it intersect arc drawn in step  2 at C

Step 4 : Join AC  & BC

Required Triangle is Constructed

Another trinagle 4/3  times the corresponding sides

Similar to above but sides will be 4 , 8 & 6 cm

Geometric way to get 4/3 times the given line

Step 1 : Extend  AB

Step 2 : Draw an acute angle at A on AB

Step 3 : using Suitable compass width , mark 4 points one by one at Equal distances at angle drawn in step 2

Step 4 : join 3rd point with Q

Step 5 : draw  a line parallel to line drawn in step 4 ,  passing through 4th point  in step 3 such that it intersect extended AB  at B'

AB' = (4/3)AB

similarly other sides can be obtained
