Draw a base BA = 5.8 cm

Construct angle 60 on B with the help of compass.

Draw BP = 8.4 cm

Join AP.

Bisect AP with the help of a compass and join this bisector.

The point where the bisector meets BP is C.

Join AC.

We will get a triangle ABC with AB = 5.8cm

CA = 5cm and BC = 3.4cm

CA + BC = 5 + 3.4 = 8.4cm
