To find : Construct a triangle  ABC such that AB=2/3PQ

Solution:

Step 1 : Draw a line segment   PQ  of any length

Step 2 :  Draw acute angles on P & Q on PQ intersecting at R

ΔPQR is constructed

Step 3 :  Using suitable compass  width  Starting from P  mark 3 points at equal distances one by one on PR

Step 4 :  Join 3rd Point on PR with Q

Step 5 : Draw a line parallel to line drawn in step 4  , passing through 2 nd point & intersecting PQ at B

Step 6 : Draw a line parallel to QR passing through B & intersecting QR at C

Step 7 : Mark point P as  A

ΔABC  ≈ PQR

AB = (2/3) PQ
