Steps of construction.

1.Draw BC =4cm

2.Taking B as center and radius=3cm draw an arc.

3.Again taking C as center and radius = 5cm draw an arc cutting the previous arc at A.

5.Join AB and AC.

Hence,∆ABC is the required triangle.

The side lengths of triangle are 3 cm, 4 cm, 5 cm

Solution:

Triangle whose perimeter is 12 cm and the ratio of their sides is 3:4:5

Ratio = 3 : 4 : 5

Let the length of sides be 3x , 4x , 5x

Then,

Perimeter = sum of length of all sides of triangle

Perimeter = 3x + 4x + 5x

12 = 3x + 4x + 5x

12x = 12

x = 1

Thus, length of sides are:

3x = 3(1) = 3

4x = 4(1) = 4

5x = 5(1) = 5

Thus side lengths of triangle are 3 cm, 4 cm, 5 cm
