The construction of ∆ABC having perimeter 10cm is attached.
Given:
- A triangle with perimeter 10cm.
- Base angles 60° and 45° .
To find:
- Construction of ∆ABC with steps.
Solution:
Steps of construction:
- Draw a line segment XY of 10 cm, let say it is XY.
- Draw an angle of 45° at X and 60° at Y, with the help of compass/protector.
- Draw angle bisectors of both angles, let these are and .
- These angle bisectors met at a point, mark that point as A.
- Draw perpendicular bisectors of lines PX and QY.
- These perpendicular bisectors meet line segment XY at two points, mark these points ad B and C respectively
- Draw the lines AB,AC and BC.
- Construction of ∆ABC is done.
Verification:
On measurement it is found that
BC= 4 cm
AB= 3.5 cm
AC= 2.5 cm
AB+BC+AC=10 cm
Base angles and .
Hence verified.
