Answer:

This is the required ΔXYZ and XP⊥YZ

Step-by-step explanation:

As per the data given in the question

we have to construct ΔXYZ and draw XP⊥YZ

As per the questions

It is given that

YZ=4.2 cm angle Y=120 degree and XY=3.9 cm

  1. First draw the line segment YZ=4.2 by using ruller.
  2. At point Y draw an arc which is cut the line segment at point M by using compass.
  3. Again at point M draw 3 arcs which is cut the previous arc at point A and B.
  4. join the point BY and extend it.
  5. At point Y measure 3.9 cm and cut the line BY at point X.
  6. Now join the point XZ and we will get ∡xyz = 120° then foot of perpendicular from X to YZ lies externally. Extend ZY
  7. Take a arc on extended ZY cut at S and T
  8. Draw perpendicular bisector of ST which also pass through X and cut YZ  at Point P.
  9. Now XP⊥YZ
  10. This is the required ΔXYZ and XP⊥YZ
