Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1 : Draw a line segment AB  of any length

Step 2 : Using Compass Width slightly less than AB , & takig A as center Draw arcs on both sides of AB

Step 3 : Using Same Compass as in step 2  , & taking B as center Draw arcs on both sides of AB such that it intersect arc drawn in step 2 at P & Q

Step 4 : Draw a line passing through PQ & intersecting AB at D

Step 5 : Taking Compass width = 5 cm & D sa center , intersect line drawn in step 4 at  C

Step 6 : join AC  & BC

AC = BC  & CD = 5 cm

ABC is isosceles triangle with CD altitude = 5 cm
