Answer:

Draw a line XY of any length.

2. Draw perpendicular bisector of XY.

3. Cut an arc on the perpendicular bisector 5 cm above XY ( measure 5 cm from the compass). Name the intersection point as A.

4. Draw an angle of 45° on both sides of A towards XY. Let the angle arms cut XY at B and C respectively.

5. Triangle ABC is the required triangle.
