Take your compass and put the ends of it and the pencil on the end points of AB.

Then put the compass on that place where you want to draw PQ and make a mark on the paper. Then join those points.

Construction : To draw a line PQ = AB

STEPS :

  • draw a line AB of any length
  • with A as a center and open compass to the the point B
  • now,
  • take a point P and with the same radius of the compass mark a point
  • join PQ
  • PQ is the line equal to AB

i.e AB = PQ
