pr - pq = 2.3cm
pr = 7.7 cm

draw a line segment pq = 5.4 cm.
from q draw a 60 degree angle.mark it aq
now from p draw an arc  with the radius 7.7 cm to cut aq and name it p.
therefore , pqr is the required triangle.

Yasmin: ok and centre for 60 deg?
Yasmin: Which is the centre for 60 deg?
Yasmin: Pls its urgent
Yasmin: We should draw 60 deg from Q or from P?
srikavya: from q
srikavya: yes

Given:

  • PQ = 5.4 cm
  • ∠Q = 60°
  • PR - PQ = 2.3 cm

To Find:

  • To construct a triangle using the given data.

Solution:

  • Steps involved for constructing a triangle are:
  • Draw a line with 5.4 cm and consider it to be the base with PQ as the name. (Using a scale).
  • Draw an angle of 60° from a point Q of the base. (Using a protractor) and name it QX.
  • Using a compass cut an arc from the point Q towards the opposite side since PR - PQ = 2.3 cm is negative.
  • You get a point, join the point with P.
  • To get the triangle we draw a perpendicular bisector that should intersect PO.

∴ We get a triangle PQR.
