so, in right angled ATMU right angle at M,

→ TM²+ MU²=UT² (By pythagoras theorem)

→TM² + 5.2² 6.9²

→TM² = 6.9² - 5.2² ->

→TM² (6.9+ 5.2)(6.9 - 5.2)

→ TM² = 12.1 1.7

→ TM² = 20.57

→ TM = √(20.57)

→ TM = 4.54 cm.

Now, steps of construction :

■ Draw a line segment TS of 5.2 cm.

■ Draw line segment MT perpendicular to TS at T and US perpendicular to TS at S. • Measure MT and US of length 4.54 with the help of scale.
