Construct an isosceles triangle ABC which has equal sides of 9 cm and a base AC measuring 5 cm.

$\dashrightarrow$ Steps :-

• First, draw a line segment AC of 5 cm.
• Next, take a compass and measure it as 9 cm and keep it's tip on the point A and draw an arc above the line segment.
• Again, take a compass and measure it as 9 cm and keep it's tip on the point C and draw an arc on the arc drawn before.
• Now, join both the points of the line segment to thr point where both the arcs meet.
• Finally, the triangle is constructed.

• Ruler :- The ruler is used to draw the line segments of accurate measurements and the drawn lines should be correct and straight always.
• Compass :- The compass is used to draw the arc by taking the correct measurements as given in the question.
