Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

AB= 5.8 cm,BC+CA=8.4cm and b=60°.

To find: Construction of ∆ABC.

Solution:

Steps of Construction:

  1. Draw baseline AB of 5.8 cm.
  2. With the help of protector or compass draw an angle of 60° at point B , as shown in the attached figure.
  3. Measure 8.4 cm from the compass and make an Arc on the ray of angle, that is BX.
  4. Join A to X.
  5. Draw a perpendicular bisector of AX with the help of compass.
  6. The point where the perpendicular bisector meets the line of angle 60°,C will be the point of intersection.
  7. Join A to C.

Construction of triangle ABC with given specifications has been done.

Verification:

On the verification part one can measure the side length AC and BC, here AC is 5.1 cm and BC is 3.3 cm ,

AC+BC= 5.1+3.3=8.4 cm

which is required.

Hope it helps you.
