  1. Draw a line segment QR=5.4 cm,then with the help of protector,draw 40° angle at Q,Extend that line up to X.
  2. Measure 6.5 cm with compass and draw an arc of 6.5cm on line QX.
  3. Join X to R.Draw a perpendicular bisector of line XR.
  4. The perpendicular bisector of XR on extension, meet QX at P.
  5. Join P and R.

Construction of ∆PQR has been done.

On measurements from constructed figure you will find that

PQ + PR = 6.5

which is required.
