Answer:

(a) Draw a line-segment AB and take a point C outside AB.

(b) Take any point D on AB and join C to D.

(c) With D as centre and take convenient radius, draw an arc cutting AB at E and CD at F.

(d) With C as centre and same radius as in step 3, draw an arc GH cutting CD at I.

(e) With the same arc EF, draw the equal arc cutting GH at J.

(f) Join JC to draw a line l.

This is the required line AB || l.

Correct Question :-

Construct a ∆PQR such that PQ = 10.2 cm, ∠Q = 60° and ∠P = 45°. Measure and write down the length of PR.

\:

Answer :-

PR :- 9.4 cm

\:

\dashrightarrow Steps :-

  • First, draw a line segment PQ of 10.2 cm.
  • Next, take a protractor and keep it's mid-point on the point Q and draw a ray measuring 60°.
  • Again, take a protractor and keep it's mid-point on the point P and draw a ray measuring 45°.
  • Join both the rays at one point. If they don't meet, extend them till they meet. The point where both rays meet is named as point R.
  • Finally, the triangle is constructed.

\:

\dashrightarrow Instruments used :-

  • Ruler :- The ruler is used to draw the line segments of accurate measurements and also the drawn lines should be correct and straight always.
  • Protractor :- The protractor is used to draw the rays of accurate measurements of degrees. It's also used to measure the angles given.
