Solution:

Given that , the perimeter of triangle XYZ  = 14 cm

and one side of XY = 5 cm

therefore YZ+XZ = 14-5 = 9 cm and ∠X = 45°

1. Draw a line segment XY = 5cm

2. Construct an ∠YXA = 45° ( help of compass and ruler)

Fromm XA , Cut off XB-9 cm

4. Then join BY

5. Draw a perpendicular bisector of BY and it will intersect XB in Z .

6. Join ZY.

Hence ΔXYZ is the required triangle.
