Construct ΔXYZ such that XY = 4.5 cm, XZ = 3.5 cm and ∠=70°. Check whether you get two triangles.

Solution: If ∠Y = 70° then No such triangle is formed.

If ∠X = 70°,then triangle ΔXYZ is formed

Steps of construction:

1. Draw a line segment XY of 4.5 cm.
2. Make an angle of 70° from Y.
3. measure 3.5 cm with compass and make an arc from X.
4. You notice that no such point occurs where arc and angle line intersect.
5. join all the points.
