  • We are given that one hallway is a foot wider, and also angle=30.
  • We have to find the exact length of the ladder such that the electrician can carry it around a corner.
  • Let one length of the hallway be equal to x foot.
  • So other length will be equal to x+1 foot.
  • We are given that angle = 30 degree.
  • So, tan 30 = 1/ root3.

        x/x+1 = 1 / root3.

        x = 1 / root3 - 1.

        x = 1.366

  • So, the length of the ladder will be,

             = x / sin 30

    ANS = 2.732 foot.
